Five Years of Blooms & Gratitude

On March 31, 2020, I took over ownership of The Flower Crate, full of excitement for the journey ahead. But with the world in the turmoil of Covid-19, I couldn’t even open the doors. Fast forward to March 31, 2025, and as I recently said to a good friend, “I’m five years older, but I’m not sure I’m five years wiser!”

That may not be entirely true. Running a small business through a global pandemic and recession has tested me in ways I never imagined, but it’s also taught me more than I ever thought possible. And through it all, it has been an incredible journey—one I have truly loved.

From slowly building friendships and connections with our customers over the years to knowing that what we’ve created at The Flower Crate is something truly special and unique, I feel so deeply grateful. Every step of the way, I have poured my heart into this little shop, and none of it would have been possible without you—our wonderful customers, staff, friends, and supporters.

So, thank you for trusting in me, for your kindness and guidance, for the laughs, and for making The Flower Crate what it is today.

1 cup almonds (roughly chopped)

½ tsp sea salt

⅓ cup honey or maple syrup

⅓ cup coconut oil (melted)
