Anna Tang Paint Carving Workshop

Come and give paint carving a go at this workshop with Anna Tang. Anna is an Auckland based paint carving artist, where boards are layered with paint, and finished off with a different colour on top. When carved, the base colour is revealed, creating a rich texture to the work. Her intricate pieces predominantly feature flora from her local neighbourhood and beaches.The perfect treat for Mother’s Day (Sunday following) or come with a friend.

Minimum of 8 tickets must be sold as Anna is travelling specifically to Hamilton for this event.

At this workshop, we’ll get started with doing some carving practice, using lines and curvy shapes on soft cutting mats to get you familiar with holding the tool. Then you can select a design drawn by Anna to trace onto your board, or if you’re arty then please bring your own!

After tracing your chosen design onto the pre-prepared art board (10 X 20cm rectangle), the carving begins. Anna will be able to help you with techniques and different cutting directions, based on your ability.

When purchasing your ticket(s) please choose the colour you would like you top coat to be as they will all be pre coated before the workshop ready for you get started!

If your colour selection has sold out please make a note what colour you wanted and we will change it manually :)
